Community
The purpose of Family Camp is to slow down and unplug from our busy lives. As a community we strive to create a dynamic and å environment that removes many of the familiar external day to day distractions.
How do we do this? By creating an atmosphere that allows people to wind down, let go, forget their to-do lists and technological gadgets, recharge and have fun!
Our community is all inclusive. Our camp is for all people, all ages and all backgrounds. Ages range from newborn to 90+. Each camp is a little different as the people and families that join us shift with each new year. Unlike many other camps, our activities change from year-to-year, as new campers and old bring a variety of offerings and teachings and activities to share. We’ve had scientists lead stargazing activities and bottle rocket workshops for kids and adults. We’ve had professional musicians jamming throughout the day and night, artists teaching pottery and jewelry making, CEO’s, doctors, acupuncturists, and naturopaths offering their services as a gift. Past offerings also include: yoga, drumming, fun team building exercises, dancing, volleyball tournaments, meditation, photography, sacred circles, pool Olympics, theater, investing and real-estate classes and hiking adventures. Everyone has a gift to give. These offerings tend to emerge throughout the week, at times spontaneously, at others, as a structured plan. You can join them all or only a few. Your time is yours to spend the way that serves you best.
We are all longing to go home to some place we have never been undefined a place half-remembered and half-envisioned we can only catch glimpses of from time to time. Community. Some-where, there are people to whom we can speak with authenticity and passion without having the words catch in our throats. Some-where a circle of hands will open to receive us, eyes will light up as we enter, voices will celebrate with us whenever we come into our own personal power. Community means strength that joins our strength to do the work that needs to be done. Arms to hold us when we falter. A circle of friends. Someplace to be free.
