Testimonials & Inspired Writing
“The week I spend at Family Camp is one of the most powerful and precious times of the year for me and my family. For one whole week we get to feel what it feels like to live as tribe, an experience that is as healing as it is enlightening. Even after 11 years I still get surprised at how deeply I am affected. Family Camp helps me remember again and again that I am not separate after all.”
“Family Camp, I love you! Thanks for an amazing series of loving, deepening, joyful, awesome experiences. I find that I am more open, more optimistic, and more hopeful for a bright future for a goodly time to come. So many loving friends and soulful relationships.”
“Remembering Family Camp 2011…rites of passage, brain dominance activity, kid’s freedom and fun, connections with new friends, piles of gratitude, heart filled acknowledgements, music, family time, support, skits, sharing, kid’s circle, council session, frizbee golf.”
“Why I love Family Camp: I learn, learn, learn every day. I watch my children grow, grow, grow every day. I feel support, support, support. I am surrounded by love, love, love. I am reminded to be higher, high, higher. I melt into trees, trees, trees, water, water, water, laughter, laughter, laughter, hugs, hugs, hugs.”

Giants Touch The Sky
Their ancient stillness holding space
Overhead, the canopy of green towering
Below the ground, roots a cradle interwoven
Nowhere to go – nothing to do
Enter birds, singing all around
Leaves fall, drifting, spinning
The trees are whispering, singing a silent song.
One with all, one and all
All the same within
We are all together, alone together
Leaving the parched world of those who do not know
Knees trembling, making awkward movements
Yet our eyes reflect love & joy
Everything nothing – amazing perfect
Bliss floods our hearts’ lowlands
The community surrounding scatters to the water
And dust-daubed bodies drift downstream
In the sun-shimmering surface
Yelps and splashes sound
And soprano laughter of girls whose legs have grown long
Return to the circle of redwood trees
Breathe
Drumming, dancing the sun into the moon
Beyond the black entanglement of twigs, stars shine
Worlds of distant space
We are together, alone together
We are home
A Holding Together —by Karen Keltner
A holding together is our community,
an Earth and water embrace.
Softening each other in unity,
and opening flowing space.
A holding together is our community,
an empty wooden vessel.
Holding both our nothingness
and our trodden tale.
A holding together is our community,
a brimming and plentiful source.
Beings of integrity,
Sharing possibilities of every course.
A holding together is our community,
a love too large to contain.
No matter where, when, and how many we are,
We are here to forever sustain.
