Substance Use Guidelines At Family Camp
We ask each person to agree to honor our substance use policy so that Family Camp remains a safe place for all who attend. We make no judgments about the use of substances at camp; indeed, our campers have diverse attitudes and make different personal choices around substances. Our approach to substance use at camp is like much else: choose your own adventure, while adhering to a core camp value of “Honor self, honor other”.
This means we do not draw a line in the sand about what you can or cannot consume at camp, but we DO request that you be discreet and considerate of others if you are to drink, smoke, take plant medicine, etc.
In service of creating clarity, trust and confidence in balance with the culture of Family Camp, we request that you…
-
- Do not keep or consume any substances in the dining area (central camp area).
- Do not consume any substances in the presence of children; ensure any substances are inaccessible to children.
- Do not consume substances to the point of disruptive behavior in the central camp areas and around children.
- Do what feels right for you, while being respectful of other campers in the ways mentioned above.
